Port Blair, Aug. 4: The power supply will remain suspended on Aug. 5, 2023 from 7 am to 1 pm, due to precautionary isolation of underground power cables during undertaking the work of laying pipe line at Dairy Farm junction from MSM Hotel to Hayat Singh Junction by APWD. The said work will be carried out subject to weather condition the schedule is tentative. If the work is completed before the schedule time will be charged accordingly. The inconvenience caused is regretted.

Port Blair, Aug 3: The Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, Circuit Bench at Port Blair has ordered suspension of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS for contempt of court in complying to the Hon’ble Court’s Order dated 19th December 2022, wherein the Hon’ble Court had ordered for granting 1/30th Pay to the Daily Rated Mazdoors working in various departments of A&N Administration.

Port Blair, Aug 3: On 02/08/2023, in a joint operation conducted by the Narcotic Cell and PS Central Crime Station, CID Unit, a significant breakthrough was achieved with the arrest of two individuals involved in illegal drug activities. The accused have been identified as Rohit Lall (27 years old) and Shankar Mohan (32 years old), residents of Prothrapur near Shiv Temple and Bhatubasti near Galaxy Hotel, Port Blair, respectively.
